Our single session plans enable you to obtain time-limited access to internet service on American Airlines or American Eagle flights equipped with Intelsat, Panasonic or Viasat internet service.
There are three different options for your single session: a flight pass, a one hour pass, or a two hour pass.
Purchase of a single session plan is non-refundable, except as set required by applicable law.
Overview of subscription plans
Our subscription plans enable you to obtain monthly or annual, as applicable and as more particularly described below, subscription access to internet service on American Airlines or American Eagle flights equipped with Intelsat, Panasonic or Viasat internet service in the regions described below and subject to the options described below.
All subscription plans covered by these terms of sale are valid only on flights operating (1) within the United States or (2) between the United States and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean or Central America, in each case ((1) and (2)) where network coverage is available.
There are two different options for both the monthly and annual subscription plans. One option (the one-device option) allows access to the internet for just one device at a time. The other option (a two-device option) allows access to the internet using two devices simultaneously on the same flight.
Purchase of your subscription plan is non-refundable (except as set forth below or as required by applicable law).
The monthly renewal date will typically be the same day of the month that you first purchased or obtained your monthly subscription plan. The annual renewal date will typically be the same day of the year that you first purchased or obtained your annual subscription plan.
If you wish to cancel your subscription plan and avoid the subscription charge for the next monthly or annual period, you must do so at least two (2) days before the monthly or annual renewal date for your subscription plan. If you do not cancel at least two (2) days before your monthly or annual renewal date, but you do cancel on or before your monthly or annual renewal date, contact Customer Care for a refund. If you cancel after your monthly or annual renewal date, you will be charged for the current monthly or annual period, and your cancellation will then be effective at the end of that monthly or annual period. You may use your subscription plan until your cancellation is effective, but except as set forth herein, your subscription plan is non-refundable.
We may change the applicable subscription plan fee by providing you notice at least 10 days in advance of the next payment by e-mail to the primary e-mail address saved in your AAdvantage® account. The new subscription plan fee will apply to your next full monthly or annual billing period after the fee change takes effect.
You may cancel your subscription plan effective at the end of any then-current monthly or annual period by contacting Customer Care:
To purchase or otherwise obtain a single session or subscription plan, you must have an AAdvantage® account with a valid stored primary credit card or other supported form of payment with a billing address in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia (such a valid card or form of payment, a “Valid Primary Card”). Please note that certain credit cards or other payment forms may not be used for internet service purchases and that credit cards or other payment forms with billing addresses in U.S. territories, such as Guam and Puerto Rico, do not qualify. Access will start once your registration is complete and will continue (i) if a single session purchase, for the duration of your session or (ii) if a subscription plan, through the day prior to the renewal date in the month or twelfth (12th) month (as applicable depending on whether you selected a monthly or annual plan) following the start date. Any subscription purchase will continue to renew automatically on such monthly or annual basis (as applicable depending on the initial selection), unless and until cancelled in accordance with these terms.
Your single session purchase or subscription plan is personal to you; it is non-transferrable and non-sublicensable. Sharing your single session purchase or subscription plan or subscription credentials with any person or entity is prohibited, unless expressly pre-approved by American Airlines.
Important notes about Wi-Fi purchases and plans
By purchasing a Wi-Fi plan, you authorize American Airlines to automatically charge your Valid Primary Card on or about the purchase date and then again, in the case of subscriptions, on or around your applicable renewal date, for the applicable Wi-Fi plan fee and taxes, in U.S. dollars, until cancellation or termination of your plan in accordance with these terms of sale.
If you revoke authorization to charge your Valid Primary Card, or if for any reason your Valid Primary Card issuer does not submit payment, American Airlines may immediately cancel your Wi-Fi plan or suspend your use of your Wi-Fi plan.
In the case of subscription Wi-Fi plans, if you change your Valid Primary Card in your AAdvantage® account, you authorize American Airlines to automatically charge your new Valid Primary Card each month or each year on or around your monthly or annual renewal date for the foregoing amounts. If, after purchasing or obtaining a subscription plan, you cease to maintain (1) an AAdvantage® account, for example, because American terminates your account due to inactivity, or (2) a Valid Primary Card in your AAdvantage® account, for example, by substituting a credit card that does not have a billing address in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, your subscription plan will be cancelled.
In some cases, American may provide you with a promotional offer for a free or discounted single session pass or subscription. In such cases, your Wi-Fi plan will automatically terminate following expiration or termination of such promotion and, unless American makes available to you a new promotional offer, you will need to purchase a new Wi-Fi plan at the then-current full fee applicable to such plan.
Any notice or other communication regarding your Wi-Fi plan that we may initiate will be sent to the primary e-mail address saved in your AAdvantage® account. American Airlines reserves the right to amend, cancel or modify these terms of sale at any time upon notice to you at such primary e-mail or cancel your subscription plan at any time; provided, that we will provide you with at least 10 days advance notice of any price change as set forth above.
Your single session and subscription charges can be viewed and printed from the receipts page on aa.com, located at the link below labeled “Receipts”. American Airlines will not send you a monthly or annual statement for your subscription plan.
WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE QUALITY OR AVAILABILITY OF WI-FI, WHICH IS PROVIDED BY A THIRD PARTY. WI-FI MAY BE UNAVAILABLE DUE TO A LACK OF SATELLITE COVERAGE, WEATHER OR OTHER FACTORS BEYOND OUR CONTROL. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, YOUR ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE WI-FI IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND IT IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT ANY REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE DISCLAIM ALL REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WITH RESPECT OT THE WI-FI, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF EXPECTATION OF PRIVACY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT OR TITLE.
Internet access and service using your subscription plan will be provided by one of three third-party internet service providers (Intelsat, Panasonic or Viasat), depending on the specific eligible flight.
Subject to the above disclaimers regarding quality and availability, access to internet service may be provided either gate-to-gate or only above 10,000 feet, depending on the specific eligible flight. On each eligible flight, an announcement will generally be made when access to internet service is available.
The American Airlines policies regarding the use of electronic devices inflight apply, and American Airlines may have other policies that restrict certain uses or otherwise apply. Additional restrictions may apply to your subscription plan and usage of internet and / or other connectivity services.
